PROFILE
I am a textile designer, I have a firm plan endorsed by the textile exports of Proexport in agreement with the Universidad del Norte, with an experience of over twenty years. He made a task that seeks to rescue the cultural traditions of ethnic groups in Colombia and work with a group of female heads of households, displaced by violence, with whom I initiated six years ago from a project training and development of natural fibre textiles (banana, bejuco , Palm iraca, fique, silk worms and straw) and its application to the decor and clothing.
It's a job that I do every day with love, patience and to whom he dedicated studies, research, analysis and experiments, to achieve a high quality product for export. |

As a textile designer I decided to create different decorative elements that harmonize with our environment and we connect with nature, giving a first step to shape the Department of the Atlanta territory as a highly productive, not only in cultural terms but also in areas economic and social.
My project as a social entrepreneur is targeted at women with high qualities creative, with the work of fabric seek to improve their quality of life and that of his family group, while resume traditions and rescue known and neglected stitches.
Due to the economic crisis presented in our country in 1999 I had the need to travel in search of new markets and commercial developments. This time I spent studying the offers and demands of both countries, understanding the sensitivity they have in the United States and Europe to work hand-made and consolidate a sales opportunity in Barranquilla to develop a line of products that were exported to decorate a house in Key Biscaine. In this process of strengthening sales were opened other doors with signatures Donna Karan and Polo Ralph Lauren, who currently export with great satisfaction and pride, and that gives us an opportunity to give work to 250 women heads of households in states of high vulnerability.
On a trip I made recently to the Philippines, a country expert in the development of natural fibers at low cost, I made a reinvestigation observation technique in which I reviewed the equipment and how to work the weavers to make a benchmark.
The results of the study projected me to new models for application in proceedings which would bring down costs at the stage of rescue fibers, which in Colombia is still very rudimentary and backward.
I'm working on the new plan to implement the progress of this study in technical textiles and its various treatments with training workshops, which will lead us to change old patterns acquired. |
